Congratulations Perfectors on a Stellar State Competition!
57 Gold, 40 Silver, 32 Bronze -- 129 Medals Overall!
The Perfectors put together an amazing performance this year at the Nevada State Championships! Sixteen teams from across Nevada converged at the State Meet, hosted by Go For It USA. In a year that was supposed to be a re-building year, The Perfectors scored more points in the overall team category than ever before to finish third. Team spirit was fantastic, and coaching was brilliant.
Level 10 qualified to regionals, scoring 4 points. Level 9 won the first gold of the meet for Go For It, qualified to regionals, and scored 4 points. Level 8 also qualified to regionals, earning 3 points. Level 7 scored an amazing 6 points, which was the highest per level of the Perfectors. Great Job! Level 6 scored 5 points. Level 5 came through in Cinderalla-story fashion to show the greatest peak in Perfector history and take the first Team Gold of the meet! Level 4 won States for the third year running, scoring not only the highest team score in Perfector history, but the highest team score in the history of Nevada Gymnastics. Amazing job girls!!! All told, the Perfectors brought home 57 gold medals, 40 silver, and 32 bronze for a grand total of 129 medals!
Standout performances include Tierney Stewart, who was first up on bars and kept her composure, taking beam! Courtney showed incredible class, sportsmanship, and competitive edge, winning beam and floor! Great job! Sarah Tom, Caitlin Soliwada, and Paige Patterson all took gold in all around and gave amazing performances. Miranda Hone had an amazing meet as well, and Megan Paget took home not only a sweep, but the highest all-around score of the meet with an incredible 38.7. Incredible job!
Individually, we had amazing results as well. Sarah Tom, Paige Patterson, and Caitlin Soliwoda all took first place all-around in level 7. Miranda Hone is all-around champion in level 6. Jessical Dearinger and Emma Tom both took first place all-around in level 5 Sr, and Stacey Hone took the championship in level 5 Jr. In level 4, Alana Kim took first place for the seniors, Megan Paget and Diana Manriquez took all around in Jr, and Courtnee Marquez and Shylen Murakami took first in the child division. That’s a total of 12 all-around champions — Great Job!
We also brought home a total of 45 individual event golds. Sarah Tom, Paige Patterson, Caitlin Soliwoda, Kristina Calvert, Miranda Hone, Karisa Roher, Jessica Dearinger, Ashley Smith, Maddison Nilson, Sarah Contreras, Kylie Moran, Alana Kim, Megan Paget, Diana Manriquez, and Courtnee Marquez all brought home gold on vault. Paige Patterson, Caitlin Soliwoda, Emma Tom, Stacey Hone, Sarah Contreres, Alana Kim, Megan Paget, and Diana Manriquez won gold on bars. Tierney Stewart, Courtney Soliwoda, Miranda Hone, Emma Tom, Alana Kim, Megan Paget, Julia Atwater, Courtnee Marquez, Shylen Murakami, and Kailee Ahrens are all champions on the balance beam. On floor, Christine Gyurko, Sarah Tom, Courtney Soliwoda, Kristina Calvert, Miranda Hone, Karisa Roher, Jessica Dearinger, Emma Tom, Stacey Hone, Megan Paget, Diana Manriquez, and Shylen Murakami all took home gold. Way to go girls!
Callie Bradley, Alyssa Walter, Julia Atwater, Sarah Contreras, Kylie Moran, Maddison Nilson, Alexis Evans, Lena Ekman, Kristina Calvert, Alexis Moore, Taylor Bacon, and Tierney Stewart all made a 36 or better all around.
Coming in at 37 or above were Hayden Nelsen, Alana Kim, Ashley Smith, Stacy Hone, Karissa Roher, Miranda Hone, Alexis Panter, Jordan Routt, Shayle Stewart, and Courtney Soliwada. Congratulations!
An amazing 7 Perfectors brought home scores of 38 or more! Emma Tom made a 38.075, Shylen Murakami and Amber Koeth both made 38.125, Caitlin Soliwoda earned a 38.225, Courtnee Marquez a 38.350, Diana Manriquez a 38.375, and Megan Paget that amazing 38.7. Outstanding job girls! Truly all the Perfectors have dared, dreamed, worked hard, and claimed victory!

Congratulations to GFI Regional Competitors!
The Level 8,9, & 10 Regional Championships took place at Long Beach, California April 25-27. Go For It USA sent five gymnasts to the meet. Sarah Koran competed at level 10, Tierney Stewart competed at level 9, and Christina “Cat” Gyurko, Maddie Evans, and Taylor Bacon competed at level 8.
Tierney Stewart had a great meet, placing 6th on bars and qualifying to Nationals. Tierney’s bar score was 9.15. Her all-around score of 36.1 placed her at 11th. Great job Tierney!
Sarah Koran scored a strong 9.3 on vault, finishing 8th.
Taylor placed an impressive 10th on her floor routine, with a score of 9.15. Her all around score was a strong 36.25.
Christina Gyurko had a fantastic meet, taking silver in the all-around with a 37.375. This was a scant 5 hundredths of the winning score! “Cat” took first on floor with an amazing 9.575, fourth on floor with 9.55, and fifth on beam with a score of 9.275. Way to Go For It “Cat”!
Tierney is now preparing for nationals, which will be held in St. Louis, Missouri May 9-11. Be sure to wish her good luck when you see her!
Congratulations to all our optional girls on a great season, and a strong finish this year! We are all looking forward to what you will show us next season!

Go For It Perfector Boys Rock State & Regional Meets

The 2008 Men's Nevada State Championships were held on March 15th, in Las Vegas. Twelve boys represented Go For It USA at the championships: Austin Maya, Bradley Bergen, Adrain Raphiel, Tyler Schell, Jace Lord, Jacob Freudenthal, Kaleb Kofford, Max Jay, Kevin Panter, Josh Law, Emyre Cole, and Roland Watson. Seven of them produced personal bests in the all around at this meet. They won 7 gold medals, 17 silver, and 9 bronze.
The 2008 Men's Region 1 Championships were held April 3-6 in Reno, NV. Region 1 is comprised of 5 states: Nevada, Northern California, Southern California, Arizona, and Hawaii. Go For It USA was represented by Roland Watson, Emyre Cole, Jace Lord, and Jacob Freudenthal. These guys had to qualify by finishing in the top six in their respective age divisions and levels at State Championships. Jace and Jacob were both members of the Level 5 Nevada State All-Star Team which finished 4th. Jacob had his best meet of the season. Jace placed 3rd on floor and was in the top 10 in the all around. Emyre was a member of the Level 7 Nevada State All-Star Team, which placed second, just behind Southern California, beating Northern California, and Arizona. Roland and Emyre both qualified to event finals and earned the right to compete a second day against the top 5 five guys in the region on the events that they qualified on. Roland qualified on Pommel Horse, and Emyre qualified on Parallel Bars and Floor. Roland was 6th on pommels with a score of 9.45. Emyre was 3rd on floor with 9.525, he moved up one more place to 2nd on floor after event finals, he was 8th on vault with 9.5, 2nd on parallell bars with 9.8, 8th on high bar, and 7th in the all around. Great job guys!

Go For It Tumblers Are On A Roll:
Our Tumbling Team here at Go For It is growing! We currently have seven active competitive tumblers ranging in age from 8 to 17.
The team just returned from the state competition, bringing four gold medals with them! Congratulations to State champions Alex Berroud, Alexandra Patterson, and Skylar DeAngelis! Alex and Skylar scored enough at the state meet to qualify for Nationals as well. Skylar also took the trampoline championship, qualifying for nationals in both her events.
We have taken tumblers to several other meets as well, achieving some impressive results.
January 7, our level 10 tumbler, Alex Berroud traveled to southern California to compete, and scored a 52.7, placing first. She improved this score at her next meet, February 9&10 to a 53.5. Alexandra Patterson and Jordan Law also competed at the February meet in level 8. Jordan earned a 55.2 and Alexandra scored 53.8. March 30th, our tumblers traveled to Reno to compete. Alex Berroud once again improved her score, earning a 54.5 which is enough to meet her mobility requirements to move to junior elite. Great job Alex!
At level 8, Alexandra Patterson earned a 52.8, missing first place by a mere three tenths! Skylar DeAngeles, our youngest tumbler, competed in both tumbling and trampoline. She took first place on both, with a 54.3 tumbling, and a 52.4 trampoline.
April 5-6 the team travelled back to California with Alexandra Patterson, Michael Snowden, and Skylar DeAngeles competing. Alexandra earned 3rd place with a 55.7, meeting the mobility requirement to move up to level 9. Michael Snowden also met this requirement, and took first place with a 57.10. Skylar scored 51.3 on her trampoline routine, taking first place., and 55.1 tumbling, taking second. These scores also met her mobitlity requirements for both events.
